TiCN Coating, formally known as Titanium Carbo-Nitride coating, is an all-purpose strengthening coating that does especially well with cutting applications. Adding a total thickness of approximately .0001″ – .0002″ (2 – 5 Microns), TiCN coating will lengthen the life of your reamer and keep your tools sharper for longer.
Oil grooves are an available option for all chamber reamers over 22 caliber. The grooves allow for a better flow of cutting fluid as well as flushing of chips.
The 223 Remington Fullbore T.15 uses the standard 223 Remington headspace gauges.
The 223 Remington Fullbore T.15 uses the standard 223 Remington Roughing Chamber Reamer.
Designed for Berger 85.5 & Lapua .223 brass (Max case len 1.765).
Freebore note: Due to the 15 degree transition, this chamber has the equivalent of .195 freebore vs a chamber using the standard 45 degree transition. The length of the 15° transition is .0404 longer than a 45° transition would be. Depending on the the lot of Berger 85.5's, the bullet of a cartridge loaded to a COAL of ~2.635 should be just touching the leade/lands. Approx. 50% of the neck will be in contact with bearing surface. Base of bullet will be slightly forward of body/shoulder junction.
Designed with similar proportion of bullet in the neck as the very successful 2013 FTR reamer and with similar throat
geometry to many of the winning ELR chambers.
Pistols often come from the factory with a case or surface hardened surface finish. The hard finish may be referred to as Nitride, PVD, CVD, Nitrocarburized, Salt Bath Nitride, Melanite, Tenifer, or Tufftride and likely other names as well. Some prefit rifle barrels will also have these treatments. Military surplus or military contract overrun barrels are often chrome lined. Chrome lined barrels are plated only on the inside. Chrome lining will often have a silvery white color versus the more grayish silver of stainless steel. If you are not sure, contact the barrel manufacturer. This reamer is not guaranteed to cut these harder finishes and plating's. There is no warranty for damaged tools from these conditions, and again, it is always best to contact your barrel manufacturer first. For an extra hardcoat layer, we recommend you TiCN coat these reamers for added life and durability.
