Maxi’s Bio

Born in 1965, Massimiliano “Maxi” Rossi grew up surrounded by lathes and milling machines, influenced by his father—a mechanical genius. His passion for precision machining stayed with him, eventually leading to the creation of Misty Rifles.

At 14, he discovered another passion: photography. Choosing photography over mechanics, he embarked on a career in news photography, traveling the world and visually telling powerful stories. He spent 20 years as a staff photographer for Reuters, a role he remains deeply proud of.

Despite his photography career, firearms and precision shooting were always a part of his life. When he left Reuters, it was only natural for him to transition into rifle building. Committed to using only the highest-quality components, Manson Precision Reamers became his first and only choice for chambering.

With extensive knowledge of rifle mechanics—including chambering and bedding—Maxi also saw the importance of stock design. Partnering with his friend Leo, a skilled carpenter, he developed rifle stocks that balance recoil absorption and tracking performance. By combining real wood with carbon fiber in a layered construction, they achieved superior handling—even making magnum rounds feel as smooth as a .308.
